This isn't everything I've ever made — that would take you all day to scroll through. This is the stuff I'm actually proud of, from moody paintings to full-on nursery rhyme nonsense. If you want to see the firehose of everything else, I post most of it on Instagram @germfil.
Part of an Alice in Wonderland series I never quite finished. Rock Bottom Brewery liked this one enough to license it for a beer label.
The Mad Hatter above, months later, on an actual beer bottle. Rock Bottom found it and asked to license it. That's the whole story — I didn't pitch this, they came looking.
Made during a stretch where I was torn between about six different techniques I loved. Still kind of true.
Simple, complicated, beautiful, confusing — depending on what you bring to it, you'll find different things in this one. Still one of my favorites.
Made on one of those days where my head felt like it was full of static. This is what that looked like from the inside and the outside.
From the same Alice in Wonderland series as the Hatter. This guy is completely baked and not sorry about it.
I went through a phase of illustrating nursery rhymes a little too literally. No regrets.
No characters, no jokes, just a storm and a light. Built from my own photos combined with some 3D work.
