Alright, so here's the honest order of operations: I'm a nerd first, an artist second, and a designer third. I know that's a weird thing to lead with, but it's the truest thing I can tell you, and it's the reason any of the rest of this works.
I've been drawing my whole life — sad-eyed, big-toothed, slightly unsettling characters mostly, the kind of stuff that makes people say "that's cute" and "that's kind of creepy" in the same breath. Somewhere along the way I also became the guy who gets pulled in to fix a company's brand, redraw a rough logo, or figure out why a Windows failover cluster won't come back online. All three of those are somehow the same brain.
Some of the highlights: Rock Bottom Brewery found a painting I made for no one in particular and licensed it for a beer label. BYU paid to license a full generative character collection I built. I designed the brand identity for a coaching company, and the cover of a real published book. None of that happened because I'm the loudest guy in the room — I'm actually pretty quiet and a little self-conscious about all of it. The work just tends to speak for itself once people see it.
These days I split my time between making art that's sometimes dark, sometimes happy, and always mine — and helping small businesses fix their brand without needing to hire a full agency. If you want the deep-dive technical version of me, I also write IT and broadcast engineering guides over at spilt.tech. Yes, really.
Thanks for reading this far. Go look at the art, or reach out if you need brand help — either way, I'm glad you're here.
